The recent disasters from hurricanes and flooding have brought questions about electrical repairs and rewiring to the forefront of many people’s minds. SPS Electric employees have personally witnessed the damage from Hurricane Harvey. Florida will have tens of thousands of structures damaged after Hurricane Irma. Qualified electricians are needed more than ever for the devastated areas and other ongoing projects. The current political environment says that some of the laborers who live in Texas now are on probation. Where will all the help come from?

Insurance companies vary on the coverage amount and how some items are valued. Home adjusters will be overworked assessing the damage value for some time. So, what do you do if you are building a home or need a job completed without crews? Many people would do their work. We would like to take this opportunity to say no to doing unlicensed work. It is important to the value of your home and the permit process that a qualified person complete the job. Please do not fall victim to employing a laborer who does “side” work. Many reports state there are those who will “scam” a homeowner (read CBS News article here) for a quick buck and leave you with less money than before.
